Description

[edit | edit source]

In the introduction, I want to describe what is Structured Data on Commons, how we can edit them manually, and why is not cost-efficient. Then I want to describe the tools:

Depictor - what options it has, how to use "category" settings, and how we can easily edit SPARQL query that this tool is using. What is done currently (almost all Olympic sports people are marked), what can be done, and what cannot be done using this tool (entries on Wikidata without image).

AC/DC - how to mass edit categories that can have couple of thousands of images. What are the limitations of this tool (it`s for very specific usage, and Depictor is much user friendly). What are properties that you can set using this tool (not only P180 - depicts, but also, for example, P793 - significant event).

WikiCrowd - how to mark simple things that humans are using. How to take all biathlon images and mark in them "Biathlon rifle". Or on all soccer images add structure data if it contains "soccer ball".

Structured Data on Commons (script from Magnus Manske) - what it can be used. How can you modify it. How it makes your life easier (one-click creation of wikidata entry is awesome).

PetScan - how can it be used to find categories that are not edited. How to find categories that are not shown in Depictor.

What are other tools that can people use to help Depictor users (how to set profile images in Wikidata). What are the issues with the current category tree (ie - painters with all paintings in the main category mixed with images of the painter)
